Additional Information
Two Motets is for standard SATB choir with occasional divisions. The motets were written in 2018 for the commemoration of the bicentenary of the Birth of the Báb, the forerunner of the Bahá’í Faith, in 2019.
The motets are entitled Fix you Gaze and Tree of Oneness, both setting texts from the ‘Selections from the Writings of the Báb’. The first is in two parts, expressing the need to believe in One God followed by praise of the One True God. The second motet is about the unity of humankind, regardless of race, colour or religion. The Báb proclaims that any form of aversion may shut us out from the One True God.
The settings are relatively simple and can be sung by an amateur choir.
