Striding Dales was composed as part of the PRS Foundation/Making Music/spnm “Adopt-a-Composer” scheme for the Settle Orchestral Society in the year 2002/2003.  

Striding Dales was first performed by the Settle Orchestral Society conducted by Howard Rogerson at Christ Church, Skipton on June 21st 2003.
