Though the date of composition is unknown, Cradle Song was published by Augener and Elkin in 1923 in two separate keys. Muriel uses a poem by Algernon Swinburne that is very like a lullaby, and is typically performed by a soprano. The work was republished in 2014 by Bibliofox Music Publishing, and also recorded by Ailish Tynan and David Owen Norris in 2009.
