Inspired by the graphic novel by Veronique Tanaka, and in particular by its relentless, rhythmic repetition and underlying threat of violence, Metronome is a process-driven piano solo: lively and energetic, sometimes aggressive.
Metronome was composed in 2010 but revised in 2013.
Performers have included Josephine Peach, Mark Hutchinson and Michaela Tomanikova.
Metronome is published by UYMP as one of Three Pieces for Piano (2021)
