Echoes from the far shore

Additional Information

Echoes from the far shore is a collection of five pieces for alto saxophone and piano which explores memory and the passage of time. In which the metaphor of the far shore is used to represent a remembrance of past memories. As we navigate the mighty river of life and push ever onwards to the open sea and the future.

Harmonically the music is for the most part tonal. But with ambiguous elements such as the use of certain modes and scales. Which contributes towards giving some of the music a slightly understated plaintive quality.  Rhythmically the music does utilise syncopated rhythms and alternating time signatures to a small degree. Which adds a fluid rhythmic element to some of the music.
