My first Rowan Williams setting, from 2006, since when it has enjoyed a number of performances, on both sides of the Atlantic, and been broadcast on BBC Radio 3. I was lucky enough to meet the poet in December 2019, when he called it 'a wonderful setting' and, of all the musical settings out there, the closest in feeling to his original poem.
