<p>This English setting of the <em>Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis</em> is for 4-part SATB choir with occasional doublings in the soprano and bass. The <em>Magnificat</em> was originally written during my teenage years – 1964 – and won a prize in a local competition, but received no performance.</p>
<p>I felt recently that it needed to be revised (substantially in parts) and completed with the <em>Nunc Dimittis </em>setting in 2018, so that it could be sung liturgically. It may also be sung in concert, if preferred.</p>
<p>The style of both sections still reflects some of the rather naive writing of my youth but, although quite challenging in parts, I hope it can be enjoyed.</p>
