Biography
Toto is a composer from British Hong Kong. He read music at the University of Oxford as a Hong Kong Scholar.
Toto’s music has been performed at venues including the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building at St Hilda's College, the Leonard Wolfson Auditorium at Wolfson College, the Clore Studios at New College, the Holywell Music Room at Wadham College, St John the Evangelist Church, and the Denis Arnold Hall in the Faculty of Music, as well as Darwin College at Cambridge, the Glad Café in Glasgow, and St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences in Austria.
His compositions have been performed by the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra; the Oxford Song Young Artist Jonathan Eyers and pianist Thomas Eeckhout during the Oxford International Song Festival; the Red Note Ensemble in Scotland during the Red Note Noisy Nights Concert; as well as the pianist David Palmer, the organist Ulla Krigul, the Berliner Philharmoniker flautist Egor Egorkin, and the harpist Olivia Jageurs.
Toto showcased his art film music in the Fusion Arts FOCUS at the inaugural DEPOT gallery in Oxford. His electroacoustic work was diffused at the Audio Mostly Conference 2022 in Austria. A new score for a silent film was showcased for the Wolfson College Film Society screening.
As a stage performer, he has appeared in productions by Palazzetto Bru Zane, American Ballet Theatre, Teatro Regio Torino, Bayerisches Staatsballett, and Ballett Zürich.
