Additional Information
This work reimagines three hymns beloved by the composer: No. 1 - "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing", No. 2 - "O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go", and No. 3 - "Be Thou My Vision". The second piece, which is unaccompanied, is dedicated to the late Winston Somerville Roberts, former Principal of the Ardenne High School in Kingston, who became a friend, protector, and mentor to the composer. Roberts, who lost his battle to cancer, specifically requested that the school choir perform this hymn at his memorial service. While the composer had never encountered the hymn before that, it became a palpable reminder of a kind, loving friendship, and a testament to Roberts himself. Years later, the composer, having never forgotten his friend or the hymn, decided to immortalise that friendship by including an arrangement of the hymn in this work.
