Biography
Glyn Perrin was born in London in 1955. He studied composition with Rands, Orton and Lutyens at the Universities of York and California. Since 1979 he has been a freelance composer and performer, and also — as necessary — lecturer, journalist, translator, foreign language bookseller, computer network administrator, company director, bureaucrat, building labourer, record producer and mentor. He composes extensively for the concert hall, as well as theatre and contemporary dance. Many of his works mix conventional and electroacoustic resources. He has also been a keyboard player and programmer on numerous non-classical projects worldwide. Following a year living among the lucid cultures of South Mexico, his current focus is on the compositional challenges of installation, sound art and the erasure of performance.
