Additional Information

Each of the two movements of my 4th string quartet (2000) was inspired by an Edvard Munch painting – 'The Scream' and 'Melancholy' respectively. The music does not attempt to recreate the pictures musically but rather finds musical ideas through reflection on the paintings.
