Supriya Nagarajan is a UK based vocalist/composer who creates cross- cultural cross-genre concept driven immersive music work. She has toured the globe and created work for festivals like the hcmf//, Ultima Oslo and Iceland Symphony Orchestra. She is a Performing Rights Society/Jerwood composer and an alumni of New voices 2018 Sound and Music. 

Supriya is a passionate believer of multi-genre work and is especially interested in creating work that brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the mind of the listener. She welcomes family audiences and her work Lullaby-Sonic Cradle has toured the world. Within the UK Supriya has composed and performed for prestigious venues and organisations like Royal Albert Hall, Southbank Centre, Sage Gateshead and York Minster to name a few. Her current works include Slumber Stories created for family audiences, a response to Barbara Hepworth commisioned by the Hepworth Gallery and Pranasa a brand new ensemble launched at the Festival of New in Snape Maltings. She tours regualrly with her duo Amaya (with sound artist Duncan Chapman) and is currently launching a new duo with harpist Lucy Nolan exploring Indo-Jazz vibes.

Apart from releasing a lockdown album Dusk Notes she has releasesd an album on Café Oto's label Takuroku and Leeds based label Come Play With Me. She has also worked with Opera North on their Resonance program and released podcats to showcase that work.

She is the Artistic Director of Manasamitra, a UK based arts charity and a passionate advocate for fair access in the music sector. She runs a mentoring program for Composers of Colour and has recently been selected as one of the Wonder Women of 2021 by The Women & Home magazine for her work. She hosts a regular show on Worldwide FM.

As this is Supriya's second career and chosen path, she aspires to connect to music spiritually and is fan of unconcious listening and silences as concepts within her work. Her future plans aim to compose for small and large ensembles, installations and a community opera.
