Jack Pepper

Biography

Jack Pepper (b.1999) spent his teens writing orchestral works for the Royal Opera House, Classic FM's 25th Birthday, the Royal Philharmonic Society, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's 125th anniversary, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and The Band of HM Royal Marines. He has worked with acclaimed conductors including Antonio Pappano, Vasily Petrenko and Kirill Karabits

In his twenties, Pepper has concentrated on songwriting. Songs from a new dance theatre show were premiered at the Royal Albert Hall in 2023, with over 3000 young musicians performing. In 2025, he wrote the words, music and arrangement of the song Harmony for His Majesty King Charles III, inspired by The King's environmental philosophy and marking the 35th anniversary of his charity, The King's Foundation. Elsewhere, Jack has a major stage musical co-written with BBC Radio 1's Matt Edmondson in development.

Jack is also a prominent broadcaster, having aged nineteen helped to create and launch the UK's third national classical music station, Scala Radio, now part of Magic Radio as Magic Classical. With this, he became one of the youngest-ever national radio presenters in the UK. His guests have included Simon Rattle, Itzhak Perlman, Stephen Schwartz, RenĂ©e Fleming and Gary Barlow. Jack also hosts the Classical Music and Musical Theatre shows for British Airways worldwide, and writes for Gramophone Magazine.

He has been named one of The Radio Academy's 30 Under 30, and one of The King's Foundation's 35 Under 35. He is an annual judge of the BRIT Awards and a board member of Creative UK.
