Biography
Elspeth Brooke is a composer of acoustic and electro-acoustic music. She writes music for concerts and collaborates with theatre companies, choreographers and visual artists.
She is also an experienced workshop leader and teacher, devising and leading a number of education projects for people of all ages and abilities. In the academic year 2015 – 16 Elspeth led a schools composition project for Brighton Early Music Festival and taught composition at Trinity Laban.
Elspeth read music at Cambridge University, studying composition with Tarik O’Regan and Alexander Goehr. She completed her Masters with Simon Bainbridge at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with Distinction and the DipRAM diploma. In 2015 she was made Associate of the Royal Academy of Music. She commenced her PhD at the RNCM in September 2016, under the supervision of Dr David Horne and Dr Larry Goves. Her PhD is funded by an RNCM Postgraduate Research Studentship.
