Born in 1979, Elizabeth studied viola and piano at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and subsequently continued her viola studies on the undergraduate course. In 2006 she gained her MMus in Composition with Distinction from Goldsmiths College, London. She is currently studying composition with Judith Bingham and is an spnm shortlisted composer for 2006-2009.  

Recent works have been performed at the Deal Festival, St Paul’s Cathedral, London Festival of Contemporary Church Music, Enterprise 08 Festival, Sounds New Festival and both the JAM 2007 and 2008 Concert Series.  Performers have included the BBC Singers, Kensington Chamber Orchestra, London Orphean Brass, the Chapel Choir of Selwyn College Cambridge, National Youth Recorder Orchestra, Aurora Nova, the Choir of Canterbury Cathedral and Bass Clarinettist Sarah Watts.  Her recent orchestral work The Serious Side of Madness, which was written in 2008 as part of the spnm Adopt a Composer scheme, will be performed later this year by the BBC Philharmonic.  Elizabeth is the winner of the 2008 Liverpool Capital of Culture New Composer Competition and will be writing a work for the combined forces of Le Nouvel Ensemble Moderne and Ensemble 10/10 for the Cornerstone Festival in November 2008.
