<p>Donal Sarsfield was born in Co. Mayo, Ireland. He studied composition with Piers Hellawell at Queen's University, Belfast and with Philip Grange and David Berezan at the University of Manchester. His music has been performed by Sarah Nicolls, The Rivoli Quartet, The Elysian Quartet, and Psappha Ensemble. He attended workshops at the School for Improvisational Music, Brooklyn, USA in 2003, the Dartington International Summer School in 2005 and the Workshop for Creative Music at the Banff Arts Centre, Canada in 2006. He is a member of the Association of Irish Composers and Young Composers Collective of Ireland. He hopes to write music in a popular style, until it becomes popular.</p>
